Tools
The 12 tools of the Vizbl MCP server, the access each needs and example prompts.
Tools
Read and write operations are separate tools. Read-only tools run without asking each time; the destructive tool always asks for your confirmation first.
Nine tools need no Vizbl account. The three library tools (create_upload_url, upload_model, delete_model) need a secret API key and the matching scopes. A connection approved for reading only does not list the import or delete tools.
Reference
| Tool | Access | API key | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
get_guide | Read-only | No | Returns the official Vizbl guide for a topic: getting started, installation, domains, tokens, try-on types, print dimensions, 3D generation, the converter, scenes and troubleshooting. |
estimate_costs | Read-only | No | Turns traffic and catalog size into an expected monthly token budget, given as a range with its assumptions. Tokens only, never currency. |
convert_3d_model | Write | No | Converts and optimizes a 3D or CAD file into GLB, USDZ or FBX. Accepts 14 source formats and returns a conversion job id. |
get_job_status | Read-only | No | Returns the status of a conversion or an import: stage, warnings, error and, when finished, the result. Can wait for a bounded time instead of polling. |
create_public_upload_url | Write | No | Hosts a local model or artwork on the Vizbl upload share and returns a public HTTPS URL, for any tool that needs a file URL. |
get_ar_link | Read-only | No | Builds the public link that opens a published object in AR on a phone, from its Object ID. |
get_qr | Read-only | No | Renders a QR code for an AR link as SVG and PNG. Rendered on Vizbl servers; the link is not sent to a third-party QR service. |
get_widget_snippet | Read-only | No | Builds the product-page HTML: the bootstrap script with its init call and the AR button with the object identifiers. Covers the App Clip, native AR and 3D viewer variants. |
generate_wallart_buttons | Read-only | No | Generates Wall Art try-on buttons for a product list and validates physical print sizes, flagging values that look like image resolution. |
create_upload_url | Write | Yes | Creates a presigned upload session for a model file on your device. Returns the upload target and the upload id used by upload_model. |
upload_model | Write | Yes | Publishes a 3D model in your Vizbl library from an attached file or an upload id. Supports multi-variant models and optional name, description, tags, category and placement type. Returns an import job id. |
delete_model | Destructive | Yes | Deletes a Vizbl object by its public Object ID. The assistant always asks for confirmation first. |
Typical flows
Convert and import: convert_3d_model → get_job_status → upload_model → get_job_status → get_ar_link.
Publish on a product page: get_widget_snippet for the AR button, get_qr for packaging or print, then allow-list the storefront domain in Vizbl.
Wall Art catalog: create_public_upload_url for each artwork that is not online yet → generate_wallart_buttons with physical sizes in cm or inches.
Example prompts
Write requests in plain language; the assistant chooses the tools.
| Prompt | What happens |
|---|---|
| Import this chair.glb into Vizbl, name it "Oak dining chair", tag it as furniture, and give me the link when it is ready. | upload_model with the attached file, then get_job_status until the model is ready, then the public object URL. |
| This is a STEP file from our CAD team. Turn it into a light GLB we can put on the product page. | convert_3d_model, then get_job_status, then an offer to import the result. |
| Here are three model files for the summer collection. Import all of them as wall-mounted objects and summarize the results. | upload_model once per file, then a table of job ids and statuses. |
| We have 400 rugs and about 60,000 visitors a month. How many Vizbl tokens should we budget for? | estimate_costs, answered as a range with the assumptions and a suggested package, in tokens. |
| Give me the AR button and a QR code for object a1b2c3d4. | get_widget_snippet and get_qr, plus a reminder to allow-list the storefront domain. |
| Delete the Vizbl object with tinuuid a1b2c3d4, we uploaded it twice. | A confirmation request, then delete_model. |
